Why are we getting an Error 1918 when trying to use Business Interactive?

Error 1918 - This error is usually the result of the target system does not have the necessary components e.g. MDAC (See below)

Windows 98/NT4

Make sure that you have installed the MDAC components which enable the ODBC drivers to access the database. You can download the latest version of MDAC from the Microsoft website: www.microsoft.com/data/

MDAC 2.5 will have all the required components to run Business Interactive adequately.

Component Checker

The best way to ensure workstations are running the correct set of drivers is to use the component checker which can also be downloaded from the Microsoft site.

The Component checker can be found at http://msdn.microsoft.com/data/mdac/downloads/

Note: MDAC and the ODBC driver that are required by Business Interactive are built into Windows 2000 and onwards.
